CHERRY-BLAZE
sense a heat: eyes – a distant glow: intense
hot flames lick the brow, the gods
unhidden moon
radiating bright: anti…
…cipation: cinéma vérité, perhaps
fire-wind imminent: man/heart
sweet deadly scent: pine-tar burnt
beading, dripping, melts away
listen! listen!
crackling sizzles
cry of the wood: soft screams
forests ignite: weep: indefatigable moan
a woman, a roar, a clap: thunder
clouds explode
the cherry air: the night a blazing picture
kissed: raining
again and gaining.
dancing
between heaven & earth

If you think the Armory’s drill hall is beautiful, take a look at Company D.
Located on the second floor of the Armory’s headhouse, Company D was originally outfitted by Pottier & Stymus, a storied interior decorating concern active in New York from 1859 to 1910. Since Park Avenue Armory took stewardship of the building, Company D has served as one of the pilot rooms for Herzog & de Meuron’s stunning restoration plan.
